Programs & Activities at SLDC

Spring Lake Day Camp offers a traditional full season co-ed day camp for ages 3 to 15 years of age with a mini day option for our youngest campers. Our morning busses arrive to camp at approximately 9:00am. The mini day option is only available for campers entering Nursery or Pre-Kindergarten and is subject to availability, location and transportation. Departure for our mini day program is promptly at 1:20pm. The full day option is for campers entering Pre-Kindergarten through 10th grade, with campers departing promptly at 4:00pm.

Spring Lake Day Camp programs are individually designed to match the age and abilities of our campers from 3 to 15 years old. SLDC has three main “camps” – Junior Camp (ages 3 through 1st grade, including the Mini-Day program), Girls Camp (2nd grade – 8th grade), Boys Camp (2nd grade – 8th grade), as well as our Junior Training Program (entering 9th grade) and Leadership Training Program (entering 10th grade) programs. Our low ratio of 3:1 campers to counselors is what sets SLDC apart in our superior attention, care and guidance. Our popular Junior Training Program and Leadership Training Program offer a unique combination of working with staff and campers, trips and regular camper activities. They both serve as a successful stepping stone towards becoming a part of our SLDC staff team.

Within our 7 period day structure, we offer a well balanced mixture of swim, sports, arts and adventure, plus a healthy and satisfying lunch, giving every camper the perfect camp day to experience and enjoy. And with so many of our specialty areas either covered, or enclosed and air-conditioned, SLDC can easily run a great daily program for all of our campers despite rain or heat!

Our campers swim twice a day, every day! Instructional swim is offered every morning and general “free” swim every afternoon. Along with regularly scheduled activities each day, there is an “options” program for campers entering 3rd grade and up. This “option” period allows our older campers to choose an activity they would like to experience, focus on, and enjoy for a week’s duration. All campers also partake in our special events activities including entertaining shows, carnivals, theme days, Olympic events, Color War, pajama breakfasts and much more. Every day is an adventure at SLDC!

All camp specialty areas are led by professional instructors who love what they do! Spring Lake Day Camp understands that it is our swim, sports, arts and adventure staff that form the backbone of our camp community. Throughout the year, our specialty staff plan and prepare for the summer to ensure an exciting, successful and memorable experience for all of our campers. Spring Lake Day Camp’s mission is to enrich the lives of every single boy or girl in an environment that will ignite and excite their imagination and help them discover their own unique abilities and talents. SLDC does camp right!
