Programs & Activities at SLDC

Spring Lake Day Camp offers a traditional full season co-ed day camp for ages 3 to 15 years. We offer a full day program for campers entering pre-kindergarten through 10th grade, as well as a Mini-Day program for our youngest campers entering nursery or pre-kindergarten. (Our Mini-Day program is subject to availability, location and transportation). Our morning buses arrive at camp at approximately 9:00 am with campers departing promptly at 4:00pm. Our Mini Day campers leave camp promptly at 1:20.

Spring Lake Day Camp programs are individually designed to match the age and abilities of our campers. SLDC has three main “camps” – Junior Camp (ages 3 through 1st grade, including the Mini-Day program), Girls’ Camp (2nd grade – 8th grade) and Boys’ Camp (2nd grade – 8th grade). We also offer our Junior Training Program (entering 9th grade) and our Leadership Training Program (entering 10th grade) programs. Our low ratio of 3:1 campers to counselors is what sets SLDC apart and allows us to provide superior attention, care and guidance. Our popular Junior Training Program and Leadership Training Program offer a unique combination of working with staff and campers for part of the day, with trips and regular camper activities for the rest of the time. Both programs serve as successful stepping stones towards becoming a part of our SLDC staff team.

Each day at SLDC consists of 7 periods where we offer a well balanced mixture of swimming, sports, arts and adventure, plus a healthy and satisfying lunch. A variety of special events is also offered each week. Our programming structure ensures that every day, each week is unique, giving every camper something new to experience and enjoy. And with so many of our specialty areas either covered, enclosed or air-conditioned, SLDC can easily run a great daily program for all of our campers despite rain or heat!

Our campers swim twice a day, every day! Instructional swim is offered every morning and there is general “free” swim every afternoon. In addition to the regularly scheduled activities each day, campers entering 3rd grade and up enjoy an Option period. Option allows our older campers to choose an activity that they would like to experience, focus on, and enjoy for a week’s duration. All campers also partake in our special events activities including shows, Carnival, theme days, Color War, dress-up breakfasts and much more. Every day is an adventure at SLDC!

All of our camp specialty areas are led by professional instructors who love what they do! Spring Lake Day Camp understands that it is our swim, sports, arts and adventure staff that form the backbone of our camp community. Throughout the year, our specialty staff plan and prepare for the summer to ensure an exciting, successful and memorable experience for all of our campers. Spring Lake Day Camp’s mission is to enrich the lives of every single child in an environment that will ignite and excite their imagination and help them discover their own unique abilities and talents. SLDC does camp right!
