Our goal is to enhance self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and instill positive socialization within our non-competitive, highly instructional program. Our staff members are mature, professional, and dedicated individuals who lead the campers in expanding their recreational abilities and meeting new challenges.
Our Magnificent 30 acre campus includes a 40,000 square foot heated pool complex divided into 5 awesome pools, a 5 acre lake for boating and fishing, water slides, manicured baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, 2 hockey rinks, 4 GaGa pits, Go Kart track, recording studio, climbing towers, 500 foot zip-line, ropes course, 4 person bungee, beach volleyball, indoor dance studio, gymnastics pavilion, arts & crafts and fine art pavilions, cooking class rooms, computer centers, wood working, ceramics, science, nature, archery, whiffle ball, music and more.
Each group has a program specifically designed to meet their needs. We offer a 7 period day consisting of 2 swims (one instructional, one general), lunch, 2 athletic and 2 arts. This gives your child the flexibility to pursue activities he or she enjoys. Along with regularly scheduled daily activities, there are option programs for campers entering 3rd grade and up. Options are led by professional instructors. All campers partake in our weekly special events including entertaining shows, carnivals, theme days, Olympic events and much more. Our Counselors encourage participation through positive role modeling.
Red Cross Swim Instruction
Swimming is encouraged. Campers receive individual instruction from our highly trained and licensed waterfront staff. All campers are grouped according to their ability not age. Our numerous qualified instructors help us maintain a ratio of 2 to 4 swimmers per group. Our age appropriate heated pools make it fun to learn.
Air-conditioned door-to-door transportation is provided using only Department of Transportation approved mini-buses. All of our mini-buses are driven by professional drivers provided by professional bus companies, and are equipped with seat belts, a two-way radio and car seats if necessary. A van counselor supervises each bus and is trained to monitor and maintain our Van Safety Rules and Regulations for the benefit of each and every camper. Camp begins when your child is picked up in the morning and ends when your child arrives safely home, and so there are daily bus activities planned to and from camp. Please call our office if you should have any transportation questions. Our Transportation Department makes every effort to accommodate your requests.

Substitutes to the daily menu include bagels, tuna fish, yogurt, buttered noodles, grilled cheese, soup, fresh fruit and an organic salad bar. We have a camp mom on staff in the dining room to make sure all dietary needs are met. SLDC adheres to a "nut aware" policy.
